Landing in a new city can be intimidating, i mean where do you even start when you touch down. Here's the first 5 things you should do when you land in that new city.
Let Someone Know You've Arrived Safely- Make sure you've let someone know you have arrived safely. This way no one is worrying about you. And someone knows where you are and that you are safe.
Change Your Phone Clock- Set all your clocks to the time of your destination. This way there is no confusion. Many phones change automatically now. But be sure to check, as if you forget and use your previous destinations time, this could cause problems.
Grab A City Map- This is always useful, you can find out where you are, what there is to do in the city, and how to get places. It will also give you a nice view of the layout of the city.
Get Some Cash Out- Many people take cash out or change money before they fly. But if you haven't. Be sure to get some out in the airport. This will save you looking for cash machines in the city. It's also really important as you will need it for transport, to pay your hostel, get food and drink and much more. And you don't want to be searching for a cash point, in the middle of the night, when all you want to do is grab some food and pay your hostel costs so you can get some sleep.
Figure Out How the Local Transport System Works- Use the Wifi in the airport to find out how to get to your accommodation. So find out which bus or trains to take, and where you have to walk. This will end up saving you a lot of money, as you won't have to use Taxis. What i like to do is screenshot it, then it's in my images and i can find out exactly where i am going, what stop i am at and how far i have to go, and don't need the Wifi.
